JOB DESCRIPTION

As our Zone Manager - You are responsible for managing, directing, and motivating Account and Area Managers selling Rust-Oleum products in your assigned platform.

Here's what you can expect every day:

  • Direct effective sales activities to achieve zone's total direct and indirect quota in a profitable fashion by leading, training, developing and coaching assigned managers to consistently improve their selling, category management, business acumen, and customer relationship, and general business skills.
  • Improve teams' effectiveness at placing new products and reducing competitive presence across all product platforms with all customers by leading and managing implementation of all marketing programs, including the Retailer Markdown Program.
  • Improve teams' effectiveness at increasing productivity of shelf space in all product platforms with all customers by leading and managing the effective implementation of category management principles and projects.
  • Maximize effective and efficient use of all budgets by managing and controlling all expense budgets to finish on or below approved budget and negotiating programs that mutually benefit the company and the customers.
  • Improve teams' effectiveness at growing relationships with distributor and co-op sales people by leading and managing increased interaction and cooperation between sales team and distributor and co-op salespeople through joint workdays, product knowledge training sessions, and lead follow-up programs.
  • Direct and motivate account and area managers selling in the paint channel to attain revenue and contribution goals.
Required Experience:
  • 5 + years Account Management required. Knowledge of direct & indirect buying - working with multiple locations as well as chains. Sales and Sales Management experience.
  • 3 + years experience and knowledge of working with Independents - professional end users - chains, buyers & Experience managing key customers.
  • Previous experience in account management, category management, forecasting, and development of marketing programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong understanding of coatings & industry knowledge
  • Strong delivery skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
