Position Description:

Job Purpose and Scope:

Provides sales and service support to the Managing Director of Wholesale Deposits (MD WDG) and Wholesale Deposits Group by assisting throughout the analysis of the funds and/or sales cycle. This role partners with the stakeholders and business line partners to provide solutions in a consultative manner while incorporating a keen awareness of risk and a client focused perspective. Focus is to provide solutions to our clients to result in growing balances and income.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyzes, evaluates, and mitigates operational, regulatory, credit, and reputational risk regarding wholesale deposits business.
  • Identifies opportunities to deepen existing customer relationships by offering solutions to meet identified needs and prospects for new business.
  • Maintains existing business and/or relationships with our wholesale deposits clients.
  • Develops and prepares responses to Requests for Proposals, (RFP's) reviews and presentations, as appropriate.
  • Prepares documentation required for new and existing wholesale deposits clients.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for sales, implementation and operations for CDARS/ICS products.
  • Performs timely follow-up on newly implemented services to ensure the client's needs are met.
  • Develops a good understanding of all sales tools and pricing options.
  • Performs pricing calculations during client portfolio review.
  • Participates and proposes ideas for pre-call planning.
  • Performs research and follow up analysis after client requests.
  • Prepares presentations for client, working group, and other meetings.
  • Develops awareness of local competition and market pricing for wholesale deposit services.
  • Maintains an awareness of trends and new developments in the field of public funds and wholesale deposits through attendance at trade shows and related seminars.
  • Understands the client's business, their specific needs and expectations to deliver knowledgeable, accurate and professional customer service with the ability to handle customer issues or complaints effectively.
  • Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
  • Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  • Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.


  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of public funds and treasury processes and procedures, from either a practitioner's or banker's perspective.
  • Knowledge of selling and closing techniques.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with all levels in a client environment.
  • Ability to develop increasing responsibilities.
  • Ability to write responses to requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to demonstrate effective presentation skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as agreements, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of economic, financial, industry, and organizational data to accurately diagnose customers' business strengths, weaknesses, and key issues resulting in sales strategies and plans and the recommendation of new products and services necessary to meet customer demands.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math, algebra, and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to produce detailed, accurate, thorough, and timely work.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective business development skills.
  • Ability to establish and fulfill customer commitments in a timely manner.

    Position Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required; Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related public funds/ large deposit/Treasury Management/finance/banking work experience, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of sales or sales support experience, preferred.
