Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing.
- Fit and weld in various positions (including overhead welding) on aluminum, stainless steel, steel and pipe.
- Torch cutting.
- Lay out and fitting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment.
- Minimum 1 year Mig and Stick Experience
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Climb ladders and stairways.
- Moderate to heavy lifting.
- Work in tight spaces.
- Bending and stooping.
- Frequent standing, sitting, talking or hearing.
- Walk short distances, sometimes over uneven terrain.
- Work outdoors in the heat and inclement weather.
- May be exposed to excessive noise levels.
- Exposure to welding, cutting and metal fumes.
