Miller Pipeline is looking to add a Welder familiar with steel pipeline to their team in Ocala, FL. The candidate must be able to pass the utility company welding test(s).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manually guide welding gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molted puddle.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Apply filler rod manually to supply weld metal.
  • Clean or degrease weld joints or work piece(s).
  • Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
  • Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
  • Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter.
  • Preheat work piece with hand torch or heating furnace.
  • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture.
  • Tack together assemblies.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High level of personal integrity and accountability.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Own and operate your own welding rig (rig pay and per diem will be provided)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Class A CDL
  • Civil, roadway/highway or natural gas project experience
