The VP, Medical Affairs - Hematology will report to the Head of Medical Affairs with primary responsibility to lead and ensure execution of all relevant programs and functions associated with the late stage development and medical aspects of commercialization of benign and malignant hematology assets and marketed products in oncology/hematology. In addition to leading the strategy and executional elements of phase IV (post-marketing) and investigator initiated studies program, the role includes being a thought partner with our clinical development colleagues for the purpose of driving innovative oncology development strategies, as well as being a collaborator with commercial colleagues helping to ensure commercial strategies benefit from the medical insight of an experienced oncologist. Lastly, the role will include oversight of a large variety of programs instrumental for the successful medial introduction of new oncology products and the important medical support of such during their commercialization.

As the VP, Medical Affairs - Hematology, a typical day might include the following:

  • Provide deep oncology expertise to a rapidly expanding and advancing benign and malignant hematology portfolio that will cover many molecules and a multiplicity of Ab platforms, all developed and discovered within Regeneron.
  • Collaborate and provide sound guidance to key stakeholders across REGENERON (and alliance partners as needed) including internal oncology/hematology development specialists across REGENERON, the Strategic Program Direction Leaders for oncology, and benign and malignant hematology, as well as colleagues responsible for commercial strategies.
  • Ensure that scientific rigor and innovation continues to be integrated into all late -stage development and commercialization strategies. Maintain excellent scientific standing among peers and the ability to address issues with a very high level of scientific rigor and creative solutions.
  • Develop a world-class benign and malignant hematology medical affairs team; ensure that our medical team is being challenged and developed to be ready to take on new roles and programs as the portfolio matures
  • Potentially representing Regeneron Medical at joint commercialization committee(s) with our alliance partner(s).

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have an MD with experience in benign and malignant hematology or other related area. The ideal candidate will have had at least 10-15 years' experience working in the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry, alternatively, for individuals with less biotech/pharma, vast clinical or clinical/academic experience is imperative. Late stage development experience, in either small molecules or large molecules. Understands the I/O large molecule world and platforms being developed in our industry. Prior successful experience handling late stage and commercialization support of oncology/I-O compounds. Experience and success in assembling, onboarding, managing and developing a l group of MDs/PharmDs/PhDs and other medical professionals. Deals with scientific concepts and complexity with confidence.
