The Vice President of Corporate Communications is responsible for designing and delivering an internal and external communication strategy. This leader will develop effective public and media relation approaches and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. As a critical component of their success, the Vice President of Corporate Communications will develop new ways to tell the Waystar story to increase brand awareness and credibility. In addition, they will provide strategic thinking about corporate interests and create ideas for inspiring team member engagement. The selected leader will work closely with the executive leadership team and marketing while managing the performance of the external agencies.

What you'll be doing:

  • Connect business goals to an actionable corporate communications strategy and plan
  • Design and execute the corporate narrative, to ensure consistent messaging and positioning with internal and external audiences
  • Lead end-to-end brand awareness initiatives to increase recognition and credibility across all market segments and target personas
  • Manage external partners and firm(s) by providing compelling insights, pitch angles, and clear goals that align with company objectives and needs
  • Develop and own relationships with the press to leverage key influencers and expand the company reach
  • Elevate the voice of executive team members through media interviews, speaking opportunities, and social media outreach
  • Partner with the leadership team on employee advocacy, retention and recruiting efforts
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify internal and external communication opportunities and solutions, and execute appropriate strategies

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a senior management role either, in-house or with an agency
  • Proven track record developing and executing successful corporate communication strategies, content, and corporate brand campaigns
  • Extraordinary writing and storytelling with demonstrated experience harmonizing messages and distilling complex technical concepts into simple communications
  • Experience applying data to measure results, test, learn, iterate and inform decision making and strategy
  • Ability to demonstrate company values consistently
  • Appetite to handle multiple projects at once in an energizing, fast-paced environment
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator seeking to learn from team members
