ROLE TITLE: Visiting Assistant Professor in Art, Painting/Drawing

Summary of Position

Allegheny College, a selective national liberal arts college, and the Art Department invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing for the 2024-2025 academic year, three courses per semester. Ideal candidates will have experience and success teaching painting, with a secondary teaching area in drawing. Candidates are expected to have their MFA at the time of appointment.

THE HIRING PROCESS

Please send the following materials to hr@allegheny.edu, letter of application that describes your experience and area scholarship/creative activity, CV, a one page statement of teaching philosophy, a one-to-two-page personal statement discussing your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, a portfolio of original work submitted as one PDF, a portfolio of student work, if available, submitted as a separate PDF, and names and contact information for three references. The portfolios should contain 20 images of the candidate's own work and 20 images of student work (if available). Please include in the PDF descriptions (title, media, year, size) and any contextual information that may be useful to understanding your work. Applicants who advance to the next stage may be asked for graduate school transcripts. Review of applications begins on May 15th and continues until the position is filled.
