Department Summary:

The Center for Learning Experimentation, Application, and Research (CLEAR) offers comprehensive services-spanning instructional design, multimedia production, faculty training, accessibility & copyright compliance, and research & development for instructional technologies to create the ultimate destination for modern, innovative online education.

Position Overview:

UNT seeks applicants for the position of Videographer to assist with video production projects. This is primarily a studio production position. The incumbent will collaborate with DSI CLEAR's media production team to produce videos, audio recordings, and photography for online instructional courses, social media, and other internal uses.

This position requires a media professional with outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills to collaborate with internal and external partners with a range of stakeholders.

The person in this position will help to create a robust library of instructional media projects and collaborate with key players to produce these projects. Knowledge of current trends in media production, motion graphic animation, instructional design, and asset delivery are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of work in journalistic style photography or journalistic video production and post-production; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Intermediate technical and creative knowledge in DSLR camera operation.
* Intermediate technical knowledge in photo editing and creative knowledge in lighting techniques or audio capture and creative knowledge in video editing.
* Comprehension of a complex Digital Asset Management System.
* Intermediate comprehension of Photoshop and other industry standard software or Adobe Premier and or Final Cut software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Video Production, Digital Media, Educational Technology, or a related field
  • Three years of high-level video production experience including advanced knowledge of visual effects, audio engineering, and film directing
  • Demonstrated specialized knowledge in producing and editing video, camera operation, studio lighting techniques, audio capture/editing, maintaining media databases and archives, media distribution, and other digital media applications
  • Demonstrated mastery skill in media authoring software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite or Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and related tools
  • Demonstrated experience working with teams
  • Strong presentation skills, including public speaking, oral and written communications

M-F / 8-5 with some flexibility.

Works with CLEAR and its internal and external academic partners to conceptualize, develop, and track media projects from inception to completion.

o:

Assists CLEAR's production team to create media and learning materials for projects in a variety of formats including motion graphics, audio, video, photography, and others to support teaching and learning.

o:

Assists with studio set-up, operations, and maintenance, and provides audio/video support including, but not limited to, camera operation, managing soundboards and wired/wireless microphones, video switcher operation, teleprompter operation, and lighting grid setup and operation.

o:

Maintains and demonstrates high-level knowledge of the entire production process including pre-production planning and scouting, project scoping, equipment set-up, camera operation, crew communications, advanced lighting techniques and operation, switching, and software skills necessary for post-production including non-linear editing, titling, animation, encoding, color correction, audio editing, and captioning.

o:

Assists with post-production and with training for CLEAR's part-time AV assistants.
