Position Summary

The Insurance and Managed Accounts Fund Management team is responsible for delivering on Carlyle's strategic objective to extend Carlyle's Global Credit investment capabilities into the insurance sector and separately managed accounts (SMA's). Focus on providing reporting, financial and operational support on investments made by Carlyle's strategic clients.

Position Summary
This role is accountable for Global Credit investment program reporting, transaction support, new mandate onboarding, and any other matters that come up from time to time in the general management and operations of the accounts and investments of Carlyle's strategic Insurance & SMA clients. This role is also responsible for advancing and integrating the team's processes into Carlyle's operational and technology roadmap.

This role will intersect with all business segments of Carlyle and therefore requires working collaboratively with multiple functions and teams regularly as well as an understanding of multiple asset classes and product types. This position must be able to prioritize multiple tasks from multiple stakeholders while maintaining strong attention to detail and work effectively under pressure in a deadline oriented environment.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and analyze consolidated, high-quality investor reporting, including performance metrics (e.g. portfolio returns and investment activity), exposure analyses, qualitative summaries, guidelines compliance, supporting schedules and other analyses, for strategic investment programs with commitments across the Carlyle Global Credit platform, by utilizing different systems and sources
  • Manage a team tasked with delivering a seamless client experience to Global Credit's largest and most important insurance and strategic investors; aggregating cross platform Credit product reporting
  • Central point of contact for external investors' operational and reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests
  • Maintain and analyze investment plans and forecasts for strategic investment programs, including:
    • Long-term net asset value and net investment income projections, provided to external chief investment officers for budgeting and planning purposes on a quarterly basis
    • Near-term liquidity forecasts to inform cash management activities for our clients and for internal purposes (bi-weekly)
  • Coordinate closely with fund management product teams to manage investment execution activities
  • Assist with legal and fund/firm compliance matters, including monitoring fund and side letter arrangements and ensuring compliance with all internal policies and procedures related to investment carve-out execution and investor reporting
  • Prepare reports and analyses for Portfolio Management teams, including portfolio reviews


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA, required
  • 10+ years of prior experience in an analytical or financial role
  • Managerial & client service experience with SMA's
  • Private Credit and Alternative investments
  • Insurance asset management exposure preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment and balance multiple tasks; demonstrate forward-thinking communication
  • Strong, confident, and proactive communication skills required - frequent direct in person communication with Investment Professionals (Internal) and Investors (External)
  • Desire to improve and design reporting processes to achieve consolidated reporting across investor's global credit investment products.
  • Self-starter; consistently drive work product to completion without follow-up from your team members or managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills a must; confidence to escalate existing or potential issues or delays and identify potential solutions
  • Strong organizational skills; high-quality work product, attention to detail, and accuracy are required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team; seek and identify ways to make contributions that improve processes, mitigate risk, and increase the effectiveness of the team overall
  • High integrity and must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary matters
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) skills required
