The Internal Medicine Liaison provides professional, timely and efficient support for the Internal Medicine department and their clients. They will facilitate all departmental needs including scheduling of appointments and drop offs, timely communication with clients and our referring practices, filling of medications, and acting as the point of contact for clients helping to bridge communications between pet owners, technicians and doctors.

The Internal Medicine Department has a large volume of clients that requires the liaison to have a high level of communication skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and medical knowledge of the types of cases seen in Internal Medicine.

Position Responsibilities:
Schedule appointments within the Internal Medicine Department
Return client phone calls in a timely manner
Monitor email and relay messages to the appropriate person in a timely manner
Communicate with technicians and doctors about client concerns
Obtain medical records from referring practices via email or fax, provide medical records to other practices via email and fax
Review records to ascertain appropriate type of appointment to schedule
Utilize various platforms for both internal and external communication

Shift: 8am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday from 8am-4pm

Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years' customer service experience in the Veterinary Industry

Previous liaison or veterinary technician experience

Understanding of veterinary medical terms and disease processes

Personal Requirements:
Minimum of 18 years old

Enjoys working with people and clients

Must have the ability to support and foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and empathy

Must have good interpersonal relationship and communication skills

Can participate in difficult conversations with tact and professionalism

Possesses advanced problem-solving skills to navigate daily responsibilities

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment

Actively stay calm and efficient under pressure

Exhibits strong attention to detail in all medical matters and in record keeping

Is able to stay organized and on tasks without direct supervision

Has a high commitment to providing exceptional patient and client care

Has excellent communication skills

Must be professional, approachable, and maintain a positive outlook
