Position Title: ER Treatment Floor Lead

Reports To: Technician Supervisors

Department: Technical Support Staff

Compensation : $ 25 / hr

Job Summary

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Dependable attendance is required

Facilitate the work flow of the day, including:

o Assist DVMs and ER staff in determining case order

o Identifying workflow delays and offering suggestions to the DVM and ER staff for improvement

o Facilitating lunch coverage for nursing staff

Point of communication:

o All treatments/procedures relayed to the point person, when applicable.

o Information of delays, diagnostics or other specifics are relayed to the DVM, ER staff, and Technician Supervisors to ensure adequate communication

o Assist the DVM with coordinating with other departments throughout the day.

o Participate in monthly Technician Lead/Supervisor Meetings as a department Lead and disseminate information in a positive and constructive manner

Schedule:

o Coordinate and relay schedule changes to Technician Supervisors

o Suggests number of staff positions needed to DVM and Technician Supervisors for proper workflow

o Updates schedule for department reference (white board, Teams, text, etc…)

o Encourages and assists in providing coverage for other departments

Staffing:

o May be asked to participate in working interviews and provide constructive feedback to the Technician Supervisor during the review process.

o May be asked to assist the Technician Supervisors in the training process for new hires.

Maintains incident logs on all direct report treatment staff

May be involved in documentation and discipline of staff.

Protocols:

o Reviews inventory sheet counts and items. Determining proper quantity on hand and items kept in stock.

o Identifies areas in need of protocols and SOPs and works with Technician Supervisor to coordinate creation.

Ensures that any incidents or injury's are documented and reported to Risk Management

Responsible for monthly safety inspections and continued monitoring treatment area to ensure safety of the team.

Anesthesia Equipment and Oxygen Cage Coordinator

Machine maintenance:

o Point person on shift for machine maintenance issues
