JOB DUTIES:

You'll be overseeing some of the highest value third-party vendor relationships. You will drive the relationship, management and oversight of vendor governance and delivery of your vendors for the products and/or services we resell to some of the biggest companies in the world. ? Provides coordination and owns results for several small or medium sized projects. Develops project plans to include resource and time estimates for all project phases and milestones. Uses business and technical understanding to ensure milestones are achievable and aligned to solution end state. Applies subject matter expertise on specific technologies required to design and deliver custom solutions where necessary and minimizes customization where possible. Acts as the escalation point of contact for all stakeholders and vendor contacts, as well as internal project teams. Receives some supervision and has some latitude on achieving objectives while maintain originally established project financials, goals, and objectives. This role performs and manages a combination of contract, performance, relationship, financial and risk roles across all areas that interact with your vendors. The role extends across understanding contractual, commercial, and operational working relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure commitments are optimized and delivered.

  • You will work to align the vendor strategy with the business unit strategy and customer centric use cases for delivering maximum value from our vendors, to our customers. It is critical for you to best position VBG to attain objectives associated with vendor consolidation and optimization strategies, highlighting the potential risks related to your vendors.
  • Align your work to the Vendor Management Mission Statement and build arguments/work/ideas within the Engage, Enable and Govern structure.
  • Enhance the perception of the Vendor Management organization through your ability to do outstanding work and build credibility through delivering results.
  • Develop detailed knowledge third party vendor solutions
  • Enable processes, policies and procedures third party vendor delivery solutions that optimize customer experience.
  • Contribute to vendor strategy development associated with future initiatives.
  • Manage through measurement by tracking vendor programs, SLAs, KPIs, solutions, outcomes, rebates, credits, invoices, etc.
  • Resolve operational issues through tracking, escalation, and managing outcomes to ensure customers value their relationship with us and the vendor solution.
  • Act as Project Manager on cross-functional teams by pulling together working teams to create course-corrective actions on escalations to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide end-to-end planning relative to diagnosing issues, recommending corrective actions, and then ensuring that the team delivers against those actions to improve customer perception / satisfaction.
  • Assess vendor spend and consolidate and recommend actions on vendor spending by product, category, and region.
  • Host and manage regular collaborative meetings between vendor and relevant internal leads, including QBRs and roadmap sessions.
  • Build an ?information on a silver platter mentality with your vendors. Have them bring ideas and plans aligned to strategic objectives. Integrate our strategic vendors collaboration as a component to our planning processes.
  • Develop and manage effective and open communications with your vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract pipeline with sufficient lead times to properly assess contractual risks and financial exposures allowing for time to plan, aid in, and execute contract negotiations
  • Use established planning processes for new contracts and renewals to develop thorough and complete requirements for negotiations.
  • Coordinate negotiations on behalf of business stakeholders and Sourcing.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, identify leverage points, and optimize cost effectiveness of our contracts on-going and new initiatives.
  • Develop contract solutions to achieve stakeholder goals.
  • Build strong relationships at all levels of the organization and across stakeholder groups.
  • Seeks opportunities to engage decision makers and influencers in discussions that lead to improved vendor engagements
  • When requested, aligns with customer account teams to originate or initiate new customer billable opportunities by identifying gaps in current client operations that can be addressed and corrected through improved engagements with the vendor delivery.
  • Partners with Product and Pre-Sales to explore sales opportunities stemming from advancements in technologies, changing market conditions, customers competitive situations or customers? need to respond to various business drivers
  • Contributes to projects that involve technologies from one or more technology towers and practices, requiring the development of new solution designs, and new process creation.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and vendors to discover business issues that may have technological or service solutions
  • Contributes to fact-finding sessions to determine and define the potential impact of the business concern(s) or issue(s), then analyzes and documents the potential impact of solutions
  • Engages vendor in root cause analysis activities of identified business challenges when identified issues are discovered and works to ensure challenges are resolved and not repetitive issues.
  • Conducts engagements with stakeholders to develop and maintain mutually-beneficial business relationships and position vendor management in a trusted advisor position
  • Leverages business relationships to drive greater value from the vendor
  • Leads solution-centric approach to uncovering current or anticipated business problems, whether old technology requiring upgrades, expansion of current technology, or adaptation of new technologies

Supports the growth of the Vendor Management practice areas through engagement with vendors to identify and vet new technologies and proposed solutions. You are a highly focused individual who has a high sense of ownership, who wants to see customers get the most out of solutions they've purchased and, by extension, third party vendors. You are capable of managing high pressure situations, de-escalating conflicts, and helping disparate parties find common ground to resolve disputes. You will own the results of your portfolio of vendors and projects. You are comfortable working in a highly matrixed and conflicting priorities environment while building up the perception of the vendors you manage.



MUST HAVE SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an AACSB accredited university
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience with program ownership in a Supply Chain or Finance organization
  • Three or more years of broad IT experience including hardware, software and services
  • Experience in evaluating opportunities and extracting financial savings.
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player
  • Knowledge of enterprise grade solutions of software, hardware, and professional services.
  • Direct experience managing suppliers

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in implementing or realizing full value of IT solutions within a Fortune 500 company, to get the most out of their technology solutions
  • Ability to effectively mediate, and resolve high tension situations between us and our suppliers.
  • Knowledge of enterprise grade solutions of software, hardware, and professional services.
  • MBA from an AACSB accredited university

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors - Required
  • MBA or Masters in Business/Engineering - Desired
