Upward Bound Summer Instructor (Temporary)

The Waubonsee Upward Bound program is seeking instructors to teach summer courses during a five-week summer program.

Subjects include:
Mathematics (Algebra through Calculus),
Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering)
English (Literature and composition)
World Language
Electives

Instructors are scheduled to work Monday - Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.*

Course dates:
June 12 - 14, 2023
June 19 - 22, 2023 (Tuesday - Thursday)
June 26 - 28, 2023
July 5 - 7, 2023 (Wednesday - Friday)
July 10 - 12, 2023

There are no classes on June 19, July 3, and 4, 2023.

Mandatory dates:
Staff Orientation A - May 25, 2023, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (virtual)
Staff Orientation B - June 6, 2023, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (in-person)
Open House - July 14, 2023, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, required.

Completed at least 2 years of teaching at the high school or college level. Substitute teaching experience will be considered.

Demonstrated ability to meet diverse learning requirements of students and experience working with diverse student populations.
