Mueller - Southwest Territory Sales Manager - HYMAX Product Line

Mueller, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening for a Territory Sales Manager to oversee the Company's HYMAX product line sales in the Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico territory.

You would promote sales, influence, and develop market management resulting in increased revenue that meets Mueller and HYMAX's sales strategy and goals. This role will represent the Company to current and potential customers and other outsiders as well as develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others internally. Primary sales are accomplished via Manufacturer Reps and established distributors within the territory. Working under the direction of the HYMAX Product line National Sales manager, the Territory Sales Manager is provided the opportunity to learn or expand upon his/her knowledge of the water distribution industry and sales knowledge/strategies, all while earning a competitive base salary plus commissions! Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Provide complete service to established distributor and Manufacturer Rep network including: quotations, product training, technical and literary support, product complaint, inventory maintenance, and delivery issues.
  • Market management and product support for the HYMAX product line of pipe joining and pipe repair products in the assigned territory.
  • Identify and contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how their needs could be met by specific Mueller and/or Hymax products and services.
  • Perform product training to promote advantages of Mueller and HYMAX product and enhance specification position.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with client representatives responsible for making purchasing decisions. Interact with relevant parties to negotiate sales, resolve disputes and quality-related issues.
  • Establish sales goals and specification objectives to meet company sales budget.
  • Provide after sale service support, including warranty and claims management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Reside near Denver, Co. Office days would be spent in a near future Mueller regional office, near Aurora, CO.
  • Aptitude and comfort with selling technology-based sales solutions and platforms.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other technology-based productivity tools (i-Squared, Salesforce.com, NetSuite, OnContact, Maximizer CRM, TeamWox, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations.
  • Ability to routinely travel 50% of work schedule (estimated 2-3 days/week of travel and 2-3 office days).
  • Ability to cover large geographical sales territory.
  • Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint programs.
  • High level of outgoing interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Comfortable with public speaking engagements and the ability to deliver presentations to large (30+) groups of customers and other external contacts. Have ability to stand and give presentations for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 40 lbs. to maneuver products during demonstrations.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business, engineering, or communications-related field.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Primary work hours will be Monday through Friday. Work hours will vary based on customer hours. Evening customer meetings may be required during sales travel. This position is salaried exempt and does not qualify for overtime pay.
