Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Consults with managers, subject matter experts, leadership and pertinent stakeholders to create, develop, and confirm program/system objectives, operational procedures and system/program constraints.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Partners with business leaders to enhance performance in support of business goals of the department and the performance needs of employees.
  • Conducts training and development programs to support new hire onboarding, peer re-training, cross-departmental training, and need-specific training.
  • Incorporates activities designed to enhance learning such as learning by doing, small group work, and action planning.
  • Uses a variety of techniques for determining the instructional content of courses, curricula and programs incorporating sound principles of adult learning theory, ensuring that program design accommodates different learning styles.
  • Creates thorough design documents for classroom, self-paced and blended learning including measurable learning objectives, instructional activities, and other learning tools and resources.
  • Stimulates and sustains learner motivation and engagement by fostering a positive learning climate, establishing relevance of the content, and providing opportunities for learners to participate.
  • Assists in the design and development of training curriculum based on identified organizational needs and management priorities.
  • Conducts performance-based measurement assessments for objective evaluation of instructional programs.
  • Prepares training status reports, exhibits, memoranda and training procedures as required.
  • Remains current on developments in training and instructional methodologies including technology enhancements and attends periodic seminars, forums, and meetings to ensure currency of education.
  • Develops and maintains training materials as appropriate, including within the Articulate platform.
  • Assists in scheduling and facilitating training performed by outside training presenters.
  • Supports miscellaneous Performance Excellence projects throughout the business.
  • Tracks training objectives for trending within the department.
  • Monitors vanity email for general communications, training concerns, and process improvement suggestions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in the fleet management industry preferred
  • A degree or experience in adult education and training preferred
  • Experience in the Articulate 360 Suite of products or other learning design software platform(s) is a plus
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering learning courses and programs preferred

Relevant Work Experience:
  • Training, teaching, instructional design

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Possess knowledge and experience in instructional design.
  • Must be organized yet flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction, and have a willingness to work varying schedules when needed.
  • Requires information search and research skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, questioning and feedback skills and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards, and initiatives.
  • A thorough understanding of the fleet management industry and ARI's products and services preferred.

Communicating & Influencing Skills:
  • Requires excellent one-on-one and group presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Must possess superior written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Must have excellent overall customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building are required.
