Department Mission Statement:
To support the development of new Hendrickson suspension components while maintaining that Hendrickson is a profitable company. We will do this by simultaneously developing the manufacturing processes and tools alongside product development. We will focus on creating processes that are capable, sustainable, and within takt time. These processes must support the capacity needed by the customer within reasonable financial payback to our company.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the assembly, rebuild, and debugging of tooling and related components including fixtures, dies and associated hardware. Basic robotic and plc programming skills are required.
Essential Functions:
1. Assemble and debug automatic and manually operated welding fixtures, tooling and equipment.
2. Assemble and wire electrical panels from drawings, schematics and manuals.
3. Organize and maintain work environment to facilitate assembly, debugging, and reworking of tooling/equipment.
4. Organize, purchase and maintain supplies required for the assembly, machining and fabrication of tooling/equipment.
5. Assist in the repair or maintenance of existing equipment.
6. Build components from hand sketches, prints or verbal instructions utilizing machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill press, saws or surface grinder.
7. Facilitate the shipping of fixtures and equipment to off-site locations. This may include designing and building custom shipping configurations, loading / unloading trucks, etc.

Education and Training:
• High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience of 3+ years as tooling assembler or equivalent
• Basic robotic, PLC, or special technical skills required (Fanuc & Allen Bradley are preferred)
• Moderate mechanical aptitude required
• Welding experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to travel to Hendrickson manufacturing facilities on an as-needed basis in order to install equipment and tooling

Physical Demands:
• Frequent sitting, work at a computer for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift, carry, and manipulate mechanical tools and machines within ergonomic reason
• Must be willing to travel to Hendrickson manufacturing facilities on an as-needed basis in order to install mechanical machine designs

Environmental Conditions:
• Office setting & Shop floor setting
• Candidate will be working in and around industrial machinery. May be exposed to the following processes and the environmental conditions inherent with each: welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes.
• All necessary PPE (as defined by OSHA) and training associated with such will be provided.
