Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY: Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools by performing the following duties.

Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Associate's degree (A. A.) in Machine Shop or Machine Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers. Knowledge of basic computer and keyboard use. Blueprint reading skill required.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to work any continuous or fixed shift schedule including any day of the calendar week as required for operation of the position and mandatory overtime as implemented by management. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally push and/or pull more than 100 pounds.
