Description:
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences of the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is recruiting to fill an open rank, tenure-track faculty position in toxicology.   The Department offers a supportive environment for faculty to advance their academic careers in collaboration with peers across environmental and public health disciplines and across the wider Tulane University community.  Formally organized as a unit in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 1967, the Department offers Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH) accredited master and doctoral degree programs including MPH, MSPH and PhD; and a joint MD/MPH.   Major Duties and Responsibilities: ·         Develop and maintain a nationally recognized, funded research program in environmental toxicology.·         Instruct a graduate-level toxicology course and contribute expertise to health risk assessment and other courses offered by the department. ·         Train and advise doctoral students. Advise Master's-level students.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in toxicology, environmental health sciences, or a closely related field of study and/or have a demonstrated research focus in toxicology in relation to human health.  The ideal candidate for this position will be actively engaged in research and education.  The applicant's research may utilize computational and data science approaches and/or laboratory-based research to investigate the effects of chemical, physical, or biological agents on human health.
