Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Management & Marketing Department in the Lombardo College of Business at Millersville University welcomes applications for part-time, temporary instructors to teach Information Technology courses.

Responsibilities:Teaching:

  • Teach on a part-time basis face-to-face classes, days or evenings as scheduled, one or more of the following courses:
    • Health Care Information Management
    • Data Analytics in Health Care
    • Data Exploration & Visualization for IT Managers
    • Cybersecurity
    • IT Security, Privacy, and Ethics

  • In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Scholarship:
  • Scholarship and creative activity; for example, membership in a professional organization or other professional engagement.

Service:
  • Serve on departmental and university-wide committees.
  • Serve on the audition committee for evaluating music majors and minors.

Contingency: Courses may be cancelled, or additional sections may be offered, pending student enrollment.

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Business, or closely related field.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Proficiency, knowledge, and experience in at least one of the course topics available for teaching in this position.
  • Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Successful interview.
  • Successful teaching demonstration.
  • Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate or "all but dissertation" in Information Technology or closely related field.

In addition to Management and Marketing programs, the department offers the B.S. degree in Information Technology with option/path selections, General Degree in Information Technology, and concentration in Healthcare Analytics (with additional options currently in development). Additionally, the INTE program offers a Minor in Information Technology.Essential Functions:
