PURPOSE: Assumes responsibility for Quality Assurance roles in assigned areas. Reports to Production Team Leader - Machining.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Must have an uncompromising attitude towards Quality.
  • Must thoroughly understand, enforce and follow the Lincoln Electric Quality Management System as it applies to all daily activities
  • Encouraged to initiate changes for continuous product and process improvement
  • Maintain manufacturing quality performance metrics and/or quality records
  • Assist with the evaluation, proper identification, and disposition of all non-conforming items and materials
  • Be aware of all product, document, and process changes in your area of responsibility which affect quality
  • Inform the appropriate personnel when there is a significant amount of material that is non-conforming
  • Utilize the Quality Management System and appropriate divisional personnel to support or drive Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in the quality training and performance feedback of production personnel to production supervision
  • Technician IV has advanced and specialized QA expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience, proposes improvements to processes, and works autonomously. Technician IV may act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others
  • Programming and running CMM to determine if parts meet specification, and indicating which features are out of specification when found
  • Work with machinists to proactively correct potential issues in production that could lead to non-conforming parts.
  • Work with engineering on processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity as needed.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Vocational Training and 8+ years experience required; or GED with 10+ years in related field. (but does not require a university degree).
  • Completion of Lincoln Electric 6 Sigma Gray Belt online training or direct equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Additional technical training in the Quality Assurance field or Root Cause Analysis is highly desirable
  • 2-year degree in Quality Assurance or other technical field or Professional certification(s) are highly desirable
  • Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system; Minitab is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of divisional products & related processes
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality standards
  • Basic knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, quality assurance tools, procedures, measurement techniques, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Charts (including Pre-control), Process Capability and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion. Evidence of successful completion of assigned projects using quality tools and problem solving/root-cause analysis skills is highly desirable
  • Excellent oral, written communication and people skills. Ability to communicate diplomatically with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle a constantly changing set of priorities with minimal supervision
  • Capable of frequent standing and walking and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Must have excellent attendance, safety and work record
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
