Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure that adequate resources and capability to include people and processes possess the required level of specialized knowledge and expertise of the relevant commercial vehicle and sign segments /products and related downstream industries. Will also ensure that technical services teams provide support to customers in line with the business' commercial strategy for commercial vehicle and sign segments.

Key Activities

• Effectively engage, develop and lead the technical services teams for the relevant commercial vehicle and sign segments across the region
• Contribute to the development and execution of the segment strategy plan and take a lead in defining, and owning, the specific implications for the region/channel/market
• Develop and maintain a high level of customer interaction by cultivating strong relationships with the technical teams at strategic independent and other nominated key accounts within the segments across the region
• Work closely with sales teams to align on the commercial (including technical services) strategy geared towards achievement of the segment/unit financial and non-financial deliverables
• Ensure that the product pipeline is managed effectively with sufficient allocated resources to effectively deliver on committed dates as well as ensuring risks are managed to avoidance
• Drive and coordinate, on behalf of the regional commercial team, a robust value engineering pipeline based on future projected business that will deliver ongoing improvements in margins
• Ensure that the technical services team inputs fully and effectively to key supporting processes such as forecast accuracy in integrated business planning (IBP), opportunity management in the sales process and claims management process
• Contribute to the overall regional management team decision making process through Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field
• 5-7 years' experience in technical services and support in the paints and coatings industry or business-to-business environment
• Must possess commercial and business acumen as well as an understanding of financial concepts related to sales and cost to serve
• Effective leadership, managerial, and decision-making skills
• Must be able to manage stakeholders
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Ability to create value propositions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel 50%. Overnight travel may be required
