(Contingent upon available funding): 40,400.00 - 54,700.00, Salary Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Coordinate performance production including training and managing the front-of-house student staff for over 200 Greenwood School of Music (GSM) events annually in the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts (MCPA) and in the GSM spaces each year. Additionally, provide leadership and oversee all technical aspects of event production, including audio, video, lighting, stage management, archival recording, screen slide performance operations, and special requests for a wide variety of concerts, recitals, masterclasses, music organizational conferences, and music-related activities. The candidate must have sufficient knowledge of musical terminology and performance practices to understand, communicate with, and support the needs of faculty and student performers. Additionally, a successful candidate must have sufficiently broad knowledge of various musical performance/instrumental media and practice to be prepared to make production decisions that are appropriate to live performances across all musical genres. Must be present to supervise and execute hands-on performance logistics or adequately train student staffers to accomplish such production tasks at a high professional level. Knowledge of all facets of event production, concert protocols and equipment expertise is required and needed to integrate the layers of live event stage technologies in both recital hall and concert hall venues, whether for solo, chamber or large ensemble events. Should be able to facilitate the continuity of music programs and staffing workflow before, during, and after performances. These duties include recruiting, training, and managing student workers to serve as recital hall managers, stage managers, ushers, etc., while communicating with the McKnight Center staff, coordinating the GSM performance schedule with the MCPA schedule, and coordinating the schedule of student workers. The position will also will regularly communicate with GSM outreach coordinator to facilitate publicity and social media content for events, and with GSM front office secretary to obtain production and program documentation. Must be willing to work irregular hours and manage varying workweek performance schedules, including weekends. Must be able to work independently without supervision to acquit this wide variety of responsibilities in a high-visibility public performance environment, be able to keep a calm demeanor in high-stress performance situations, and be sufficiently knowledgeable to anticipate the inevitable problems and determine solutions to such problems as they arise, often in the frantic time frame of live performance. The employee must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field and two years related work experience such as technical experience in live shows & events, supervision of employees, scheduling, staging, training and recording. 

Strong communication, and organizational skills. High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office and macOS computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management. Knowledge in classical music, jazz, and other music settings. Ability to quickly learn, understand, and use technology/software programs. Ability to adapt to new and rapidly changing situations.
