Position Summary

Results driven professional dedicated to constant learning and training. Spends time assisting operators on the path to excellent yields removing obstacles, suggesting 7 Step & 5S opportunities. Leads staff on the weekends, directs communication to the operators and bringing their issues forward. Must have excellent equipment acumen, with the ability to be creative and troubleshoot when necessary. Technical aptitude, people-centric and ability to lead a team to excellence.

Principal Responsibilities

• Oversees extrusion operations, equipment maintenance, quality, waste/scrap, documentation, and production output
• Responsible for communication of key performance metrics to all levels of the organization (i.e. operators, engineers, managers, supervisors, etc.)
• Ability to communicate to operators and remove obstacles when needed
• Lead and motivate operators to meet targets
• Helps supervisor develop staffing requirements and equipment assignments
• Train team members on machine operations, process and procedures (SOPs)
• Assists in procedure documentation and training development
• Provides training, guidance and direction to employees
• Responsible for training documentation
• Conducts quality checks, assists in root-cause analysis, problem solving and reports issues to Supervisor, assists in implementation of corrective action
• Acts as liaison between production operations and Supervisor and maintains communication between shift operations
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime
• This position has input in employment and performance evaluations
• Responsible for operator performance to achieve maximum efficiency for all assigned areas
• Must be able to adapt to change in fast paced environment
• Needs to communicate effectively with Supervisors regarding PTO and other time related issues

Education / Experience Requirements

• High school education or equivalent required
• 5 years manufacturing experience required
• Machine operations experience, working independently and in a team environment
• Medical Devices experience preferred
• Experience leading a team preferred

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Strong written, verbal and analytical experience required. Knowledge in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to prioritize
• Time management
• High attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work with a variety of people
