Position Title: Technical Developer

Start Date: Aug 22nd or later

Job Duration: 6 month contract with likelihood and opportunity to extend

Reason for need: New Project - developing new applications to identify and improve reliability issues. This team is completing infrastructure upgrades, improving operational efficiency via data analysis, leveraging AMI usage data to identify scarcity, EVs that are creating at risk circuits, outage management, daily resource planning etc. Not enough bandwidth on his team currently to execute this new project.

Project Details: This consultant will sit on the Data Science team and will be providing data analysis in the MS Azure cloud platform specifically utilizing outage data to improve operational efficiency. They will then develop the outage and reliability applications for the Electric Distribution team. Storm operations will be a big part of this data analysis. Outage data is stored in the AMI system (leveraging MS SQL server) and reports on the time an outage occurred, how quickly DTE responded, when power was turned back on, how productive the field crew was when fixing the outage etc. End goal is to forecast outages and create reporting (within Power BI) for the Electric DO team to streamline operational efficiency. This will include back-end analysis and front-end web development. For the front-end development this consultant will be utilizing Angular JavaScript and ArcGIS JS (this is where customer location/map data is located). MS SQL server and MS Azure APIM will be leveraged to interface between the web application and the back-end server. This consultant will need to be well versed in Python coding language to be successful on this project.

Must Have Skills:

1. Experience with Python or PHP coding (Python is more important)

2. Bachelor's Degree

3. 3-5 years of experience working as a technical developer

4. Experience working with MS SQL Server, Azure Cloud, Azure APIM, Angular JavaScript and ArcGIS JavaScript

Nice to Have Skills:

Utility experience

Power BI experience

DataBricks experience

Working on similar data science projects in the past

Day to day responsibilities:

• Develop the outage and reliability applications for the Electric Distribution team
• Conduct data analysis on data dumps and scrapes
• Data Clean Up
• Using Python/PHP coding to create web application
• Work within Power BI to develop reporting tools and analytics
• Utilize Angular JavaScript and ArcGIS JS for front end web development
• Utilize MS SQL Server and MS Azure APIM to interface the web application and backend server
• Work with teams to update and prioritize reporting features

Software: Microsoft SQL server, Azure cloud, Azure APIM, Angular JS, ArcGIS JS, DataBricks, Power BI

Education/Certification Requirements: Bachelor's Degree

Remote Info: Fully remote. Can sit anywhere. Ideally not west coast but can make exceptions if need be.
