TITLE: Team Leader

STATUS: Hourly

LOCATION: Dallas/ Van Horn

DEPARTMENT: Shipping/ Billing Office

REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor or Manager



Purpose/Responsibility:

To support the operations of the plant so that they can optimize the use of all resources in meeting and/or exceeding established plant goals and client/customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assure compliance to all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures.

2. Support team members in daily work activities to meet the needs of clients as needed. Will include performing the work of the team members.

3. Will organize and direct job rotation programs in their area of responsibility and will coordinate cross functional training to support job rotation.

4. Has excellent verbal communication skills and serves as a conduit of information between assigned area and other parts of the plant.

5. Computer literate to include Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite of products.

6. Available to work assigned work schedule shift/hours as necessary to meet client/customer requirements as directed by plant management.

7. Make decisions based on available information and policies/procedures within the designated area of responsibility.

8. Provide leadership and demonstrate behaviors that aligns with plant expectations and the Company's CITE Principles.

9. Successfully complete all training required to meet the needs of the team (and applicable job rotations). Training is completed to keep skill set current to meet the needs of the team, department and plant.

10. Assist in training of hourly team members.

11. Encourage team members and promote a positive attitude.

12. Manage daily activities to complete the PM's for all equipment, tools and support equipment within assigned area.

13. Assure that the team maintains daily 5s/ clean-up expectations for area of responsibility.

14. Participate on Kaizen, TPM and cross functional teams events as requested.

15. Travel as needed when conducting or participating in training events.

16. Demonstrate a general knowledge of all jobs in the department.

17. Understand all applicable machinery and equipment in assigned area of responsibility.

18. Perform other tasks as directed by plant management.

There may also be activities or functions that are plant-specific or applicable to the specific area of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Education, Experience and Skills;

· High School Diploma/ GED required, in lieu of education extensive knowledge of all processes associated within the scope of the respective team may be considered.

· Manufacturing/work experience and willingness to learn to operate required positions in the team assigned.

· Track record of successful team support, meeting work performance expectations and commitment toward continuous improvement.

· Experience performing duties in a working in team's environment committed to positive performance and SQDC goal achievement.

· Demonstrated behavior that supports the company's core values and CITE principles.

· Has excellent communication skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

Language Skills:

Must read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, pallet tickets, or job orders. Must communicate effectively with co-workers and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints.

Mathematical Skills:

Use basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to such tasks as inventory control, material ordering, and job order verification.

Reasoning Skills:

Perceive problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, and crouch. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Typical indoor and outdoors manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection is required in areas of the production floor. Safety glasses are required at all times on the production floor. Other forms of PPE may be required depending on the work/task being performed. Occasional weekend or off-shift work required.
