Postion Summary:

Team Lead, Domestic Dispatch Support will oversee the team's day to day truck and rail dispatch to ensure shipments are received timely. Handle and resolve elevated issues by working with internal and external departments, vendors and customers. Look for ways to improve Best Practices and communicates to upper management. Understands that their work affects not just the Domestic team but can have an impact on other departments within the company. Supervise domestic BCO lanes, coordinate, execute and monitor both the rail and truck legs of each shipment.

This position will be responsible to:

  • Oversee the load planning and execution for multiple transportation management accounts: BCO and IMC to ensure cargo is loaded and delivered timely.
  • Confirm and manage in house truck availability in order to meet customer delivery schedule.
  • Ensure over the road and rail compliance for tendered loads. Follow standard regulatory procedures.
  • Manage high volume of phone and written correspondence with agreed SLA's.
  • Serve as an elevated contact for service-related issues or requests
  • Assist Sales Team with operational questions and procedures to assist customers.
  • Communicate to customer(s) of potential delays or issues preventing dispatch and maintains customer interactions until all delivery requirements are satisfied
  • Collaborate with internal departments to expedite transport
  • Assist team members with operational issues
  • Promotes exceptional Customer service within the team
  • Compile daily, weekly, monthly KPI's
  • Monitor and reports truck performance
  • Develop and maintains rapport with vendors
  • Track customer volume trends and communicate with customer/sales representative on performance
  • Serve as the technical expert for internal and 3rd party operating systems
  • Identify better ways
  • Monitor idle cargo to avoid stgorage at the compamy's expense and aging containers
  • Assist managemetn in the implementation of cost savings initiatives while identifying additional cost savings opportunities
  • Approve spot rates from vendors
  • Miscellaneous related duties or other duties as assigned

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 2-4 years of general and industry experience.
  • Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of the inland transportation industry including rail networks, rail operations, rail billing, or vendor management.
  • Knowledge of truckload: highway and intermodal freight.
  • Knowledge of the Blume Global Intermodal Reservation system .
  • Knowledge of Domestic Intermodal and Highway Pricing
  • Excellent communications skills via email and phone for interactions with customers, vendors and internal team members Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail-oriented person with strong organization skills
  • Works collaboratively within a team
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills and passion
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Maintains high level of professionalism

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
