Job you will do

Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Tax Administrative Assistant might include the following:

  • Answer phones with professionalism, greet clients and direct them to the correct person.
  • Work with spreadsheets, track data in a database, time record keeping and client maintenance.
  • Assist partners, managers and staff with all office activities (typing, faxing, scanning and copying).
  • Create various reports.
  • Print and assemble final versions of tax returns for corporations, individuals, partnerships, payroll, nonprofit and financial institutions.
  • Electronically track and save returns according to Firm guidelines.
  • Responsible for e-filing and producing extensions tracking.
  • Back-up support for returns processing.
  • Review, sort and route incoming mail; distribute outgoing mail.
  • Order and stock supplies.
  • Open to new challenges and assist with special projects as requested.
  • Pick up additional administrative responsibilities when needed.
 

Who You Are
  • You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
  • You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You love collaborating and being part of a team but also enjoy working alone with limited supervision.
  • You preferably have experience working in a professional service or accounting firm.
  • In addition to all of this, you have a high school diploma, 3+ years of past administrative support experience and you are willing to work overtime (during tax filing periods).
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
