Get to Know This Role

In alignment with SNBC's company values, this position pursues excellence in all aspects of our Food & Beverage Operations. The Tasting Room Supervisor manages all aspects of the Tasting Room operations and is responsible for developing people and processes to uphold Sierra Nevada's Food & Beverage ethos: "The purpose and intent of the Food & Beverage Department is to deliver an unmatchable face-to-face interaction which our guests will remember long after they've left our properties." The Tasting Room Supervisor acts as a dynamic, passionate customer service professional with a keen sense of proper guest relations who drives and leads our teams to success, and demonstrates a strong financial acumen with great foresight.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the tasting room; retail and merchandise, food & beverage operations, beer displays, and onsite cleanliness and maintenance, and overseeing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements
  • Ensure positive guest experiences in all areas of property and when needed, take action/respond accordingly to guest issues and or complaints in a timely matter
  • Adhere to SNBC standards of food and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs
  • Understand and maximize financial performances through honest and capable accounting practices
  • Uphold SNBC safety and security requirements and procedures, in all aspects, in order to protect the company and its employees at all times
  • Hire, train, and develop responsible and effective professionals who demonstrate their passion for customer satisfaction and who are empowered to suggest new ideas
  • Ensure routine maintenance schedules on serviceable equipment and in-house managed equipment (beer lines, growler filler, tap handles)
  • Ensure all financial reporting, invoices, and personnel/payroll related materials are secured, submitted accurately, and in the parameters set forth by SNBC
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate staffing plan for proper execution at all times
  • Develop strong relationships with other departments and support collaboration throughout the business for the best customer experience, and growth of Sierra Nevada employees

Please Apply if You Have:
  • 3 years of customer service experience in a retail, quick-service or full-service restaurant environment, taproom, or brewery required
  • 1 year supervisory experience required
  • Profit and Loss Statement exposure is highly desired
  • Cicerone Beer Server certification is highly desired
  • Interest in and love of craft beer and local artisanal food
  • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional customer service in a fast paced work environment
  • Basic computer knowledge, specifically POS System, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to effectively use scheduling and budget systems
  • Ability to consistently maintain professionalism, collaboration, and self-motivation
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure food and service meet appropriate standards
  • Ability to execute and manage details for multiple projects while maintaining alignment with and focus on company level strategy and goals
  • Sound knowledge of restaurant compliance requirements, on and off-site regulations (related to food service for festivals and events)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively respond to feedback from customers, peers, employees and management
  • CA Food Manager Card upon hire required
  • TIPS Alcohol Certification within 90 Days required
  • DL - Driver's License upon hire required
