Job Description:

We are currently looking for a SW Account Manager to join our team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. The qualified individual in this role will develop and nurture relationships with customers and potential customers, promoting and selling AKB products and services within the Southwest U.S. territory in a manner that is consistent with business plans and company objectives. Responsibilities:
  • Sell AKB products and services particularly Planova™ virus filters - in assigned territory, focusing on new business by securing orders at an annual level that meets or exceeds mutually agreed goals.
  • Develop and execute individual and specific account strategies, account portfolios and territory business plans by identifying and working with appropriate decision makers in customer and potential customer organizations.
  • Conduct hands-on demonstrations of AKBA products and deliver application presentations to current and potential customers.
  • Promote customer satisfaction by providing product and technical support, answering inquiries, issuing quotations, investigating complaints and taking appropriate action utilizing all available resources.
  • Communicate best practices, sales strategies, and assist with training and coaching of other AKB team members and international agents to ensure alignment of proven sales techniques.
  • Conduct demonstrations of AKB products and deliver application presentations to potential customers.
  • Present and report competitive product information and observed competitor market activity / perceived strategies.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting for territory sales and volume.
  • Complete customer visit reports, monthly activity reports and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Represent AKB at exhibitions / technical symposia, including booth duties, technical presentations, etc. Recommend suitable exhibitions / symposia in which AKB should participate.
  • This position reports to Director of Business Development

Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum of BS/BA in Life Science related field
  • Experience: 1-3 years Bioprocess Manufacturing or Process Development experience
  • Experience: 0-2 years in a sales or product marketing environment
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driving license with good driving record
  • Knowledge: Basic downstream processing and process development preferred. In depth knowledge of bioprocess techniques, virus filtration, tangential flow filtration, and chromatography a plus.
  • Demonstrated success selling life-science products & services a plus.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Multilingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
  • Candidates will work out of home office in Southern California.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required by territory geography and company requirements.
  • Ability to lift filtration equipment no more than 50lbs.
  • Overnight travel up to 50% depending on home-office location.
