Responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support of purchasing operations. Responsible for planning and management of assigned productive stores required for production and sales under corporate purchasing protocols and procedures and MRP principles. Responsible for inventory levels of each productive store.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
  • Responsible for management of assigned supplier base including product specifications, lead-time, price table and quality parameters, productive stores/finished goods usage forecast. Supplier performance and other relevant supplier partnership protocols. Assists Supply Chain Manager in selection sourcing, cost improvement and new product initiatives and supplier certification activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining procurement through MRP systems including: lead-times, safety times, min/max order quantities, action message disposition and other designated procedures including: updating of reorder spreadsheets.
  • Responsible for exercising sound fiscal judgment around sourcing assigned stores and finished goods requirements to approved supplier base. Includes timely administration (change orders, due dates, etc.)
  • Responsible for inventory management of assigned commodities to meet corporate performance benchmarks including: dollar and unit investment, days of supply and turns, obsolescence identification and disposition. Provide purchasing support to remote manufacturing facilities.
  • Area or responsibilities are but not limited to, boxes, folding cartons generic and printed, misc. bags, blisters, and labels.
  • Handles special projects as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
  • Constant personal contacts with vendors as a representative of the company.
  • Serve as a liaison between using departments and vendors in placing and filing orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
  • One to three years' experience in purchasing, releasing of material, planning, or inventory control in consumer products, or packaging manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
SKILLS
  • Requires ability to analyze a variety of problems resulting from diversified nature of commodities handled.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices, manufacturing system processes (MRP) and ability to interpret specifications.
  • Skills in oral and written communications are essential. Must have effective interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels of organization.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of general purchasing principals, vendor relationships, just in time deliveries, inventory management and reduction, total quality management.
