Purpose

This role is a key member of the Supply Chain Leadership team and as a leader in the organization has a task to significantly contribute to the organizations goals and ambitions.

• Responsible for creating value through supply chain leadership and excellence, which must efficiently and effectively enable Motiva business units and corporate functions to optimize the value they receive from suppliers
• Provide leadership to the team, including performance coaching and developmental opportunities to build strong, qualified subject matter experts knowledgeable of industry leading practices to meet the leadership expectations for keeping pace in our fluid and dynamic business and operating environment. Build high performing teams through internal and external training and exposure to industry associations for exposure to leading practices to strengthen the team's supply chain management knowledge
• Work as the primary change agent and supplier relationship manager for improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in the supply base.

Position Overview:

• Reports to VP of Supply Chain
• Leads Category Manager, sourcing, and contracting professionals managing an annual spend portfolio of $1.55M in support of Motiva's Refining and Chemical business units
• Assists the VP of Supply Chain Management in assuring all Motiva spend is effectively managed, identifying and evolving best practices, and setting an overall strategy which leads to a high performing supply base and supply chain organization.
• Assists the in building a culture of supply chain excellence by growing the knowledge and skills of the organization through training, development, and coaching. Ensure the team connects their roles to the overall business strategy
• Continuously improve alignment and engagement with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Ensures that Supply Chain is perceived as a positive, significant, and value adding integral partner to Motiva

Responsibilities:

• Continually identify and implement new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives. Prepare and presents business cases, return on investment models, and change management programs to stakeholders and senior management. Implement and measures cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs and strategies. Continually refine these programs to deliver optimal results for Motiva.
• Leads the organization to ensure the company benefits from centrally leveraged spend across the parent company Saudi Aramco, plants, locations and departments. Ensures that category management and sourcing are optimized internationally, regionally and locally to maximize value, improve service levels and reduce risk in the supply chain for all Motiva lines of business.
• Responsible for continual transformation and improvement of the organization to ensure decisions are data-driven and performance is measured. Spend analytics, operational performance metrics and scorecards, documented project plans, quantitative and qualitative evaluations must be continuously enhanced to enable stakeholder reporting and internal measurement of effectiveness.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors and partners.
• Lead and manage the supplier approval and escalation process including investigations, tracking, and resolution of problems as they occur and develop sustainable solutions.
• Champion, sponsor and participate in key project initiatives.
• Substantial experience in supplier rationalization, category management, supplier management, commercial deal-making and commercial aspects of the categories under their oversight.

Experience and Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
• Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, or relevant experience required.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience with proven track record leading Supply Chain or Procurement team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication, collaboration and coaching skills required.
• Expert knowledge of sourcing, buying, vendor management, materials/inventory management, planning, project management, supply risk management, contracts, negotiations.
• Demonstrated experience delivering in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of SCM ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred.
• Business acumen: solid operational knowledge of downstream oil and gas finance, operations, accounting, MIS and organizational behavior.
• Legal acumen: deep knowledge of contracting, contract terms and conditions, Uniform Commercial Code, and contracting for goods and services.
