This organization is a specialist interior focused general contractor headquartered in Maryland that has been in operation for over 60 years. Most of their projects fall within the DC Metro and surrounding areas. Operating across a number of sectors, including, but not limited to, corporate offices, law firms, healthcare, education and community associations. This particular position will support a program of projects with a local University who they have worked with for over 10 years.

Your new role

In this position, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
• Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
• Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline
• Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
• Create schedules for workers and subcontractors
• Hire additional subcontractors and assign work accordingly
• Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary
• Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
• Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Demonstrable and proven experience as a Superintendent working on Education and/or Higher Education projects
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to plan and schedule works, coordinate with subcontractors and any other stakeholders
• Uphold high levels of health and safety, whilst maintaining quality control.
