As an Earthworks Superintendenton the $3.3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia, you willschedule, coordinate, and supervise production and workforce engaged on your assigned area of the project (Precast Yard)

The Hampton Roads Connector PartnersJV(HRCP) consisting of Dragados, VINCI, Flatironhas been selectedto construct the $3.3BN Design Buildproject-the largestcivilconstruction contracteverawarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The project scopeacross a9 milesection of the I-64will include:a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45' diameter 1.5-mile tunnelswill be boredby TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America. The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate works with the General Superintendent and Project Management. Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives.
  • Understand, apply and enforce the company values and policies with regards to safety, environmental, HR, and quality.
  • Become familiar with each job estimate for general condition items and follow the direction of the General Superintendent and Management with regards to performing work within the boundaries of the estimate.
  • Provide input on scheduling and placement of production crews. Supervise the scheduling and timely completion of activities
  • Support the General Superintendent to ensure timely on-site delivery of materials and equipment furnished by the Company and subcontractors.
  • Direct and train the foremen and field staff to ensure their continued development by use of performance evaluations, varying assignments, and promoting positive project morale.
  • Work with the Safety Department to establish and maintain good health and safety practices for the entire project in accordance with applicable safety codes and regulations.
    Ability to use a laptop and company designated software on a daily basis on the job site
  • Supervises assigned project work and liaises between field engineering, estimating,and workforce to ensure project compliance with contract drawings andspecifications.
  • Performs additional assignments per management'sdirection.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' of construction experience with at least two (2) of those years involving earthworks as a Superintendent.
  • Experience must include earth excavation, grading and utility works in heavy civil projects.
  • Experience in deep excavations, deep foundations, or tunneling will be highly valued.
  • Bachelor's Degree considered a plus.
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills required.
  • Strong leadership capability with internal drive to mentor and grow internal talent.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge ofconstruction site safety protocolsand proven ability to enforce project safety programs.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract specific plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
