The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for the development and validation of electric vehicle power electronics and electrified vehicle systems/devices for passenger cars and trucks. The SME will develop power electronic devices DVP & R, define and carry out all required development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives, and assure compliance to program goals and participate in supplier assessments and post-test inspection reviews, including detailed failure analysis. The SME will work closely with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufactured without defect. Tested finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary. The SME will define and carry out all required bench development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals per Global requirements. The SME will develop common best practices globally for all the Power Electronics Charging System component commodities.

Mentor and train Development Engineers in Power Electronics hardware design topology. Analyze projects to ensure projects achieve best practice performance. Drive for strategies that meet regulatory requirements while working with the quality department to define hardware limits and/or component test cycle creation for ED/DV/PV testing. Keep up-to-date with best practices across the industry and work to implement these practices across global Stellantis applications. Lead technical problem solving to find technical solutions to systemic challenges during DVP & R development. Work to improve methods and processes to make component development more efficient through the use of virtual hardware development. Work with the quality department to identify top issues and develop countermeasures urgently. Provide expert technical support for production-launch engineers and consultations for technical leadership for the Center of Excellence teams.
