What You'll Do

Visible Alpha is looking for an experienced strategic sales representative to monetize Visible Alpha's offering outside of our core market of Hedge Funds and Asset Managers. Segments include, but are not limited to, Consultants and Service Providers. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated success in creating strategic partnerships with Corporates, Consultants, Vendors, or large Institutions on the buy or sell-side. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales, Americas.

  • Create new growth avenues for Visible Alpha by establishing strategic relationships outside of Visible Alpha's core market.
  • Find, prospect and lead negotiations with potential partners to support Visible Alpha's market penetration goals
  • Achieve sales quotas established by the VP of Sales.
  • Track and regularly report progress on goals and metrics-Effectively build and manage a sales pipeline leveraging CRM and other internal tools to demonstrate the depth of funnel. Manage partner/prospect relationships and provide regular updates to the Commercial team and Executive leadership as needed
  • Network and build relationships within the corporate, consultant, investment banking, private equity, and vendor community.
  • Experience in driving, negotiating, and closing sophisticated sales and executing competitor displacements
  • Work closely with the VP of Sales, Commercial team members and other cross-functional teams (e.g. product management) to drive partnership agendas/revenue outcomes
  • Strong financial knowledge and understanding the investment research process on the buy-side or sell-side
  • Deliver an effective pitch and technology demonstration to partners while working effectively with colleagues and team members to communicate customer needs, product requirements, and competitive gaps
  • Collect market and other intelligence on existing or potential strategic partners

Who You Are
  • Fifteen plus years of sales experience selling / closing sell-side fundamental research, data, or analytics to the buy-side, sell-side, or adjacent communities including selling these data sets to third parties
  • Familiarity with core and alternative data as it relates to the buy-side, sell-side, corporates, or consulting space
  • Ability to take a consultative approach with to problem solving with prospective partners/clients
  • Experience in managing the full partnership cycle-- identifying and engaging leads, uncovering appropriate use cases, positioning the correct VA offering(s), developing thoughtful commercial frameworks, negotiating partnership agreements, and onboarding new partners
  • Lead with a Partner-first mentality focused on helping stakeholders succeed while creating win-win partnerships
  • Prior success of establishing significant enterprise relationships with products in the Fintech space
  • Ability to be self-driven in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel to meet with partners and attend strategic events as needed
  • BA / BS Degree; CFA, or desire to obtain the CFA designation, preferred but not required

Remuneration: At Visible Alpha, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $138,000 to $187,000. This role is also eligible for a 50% target bonus.
