The staff accountant will work directly with the corporate controller in the management of the day-to-day accounting functions, payroll, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, working with the auditors on the quarterly reviews and year-end audit, budgeting, equity management, and various other projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity.
• Provide oversite to Accounts Payable and Receivable process.
• Develop and implement document recordkeeping and accounting systems using ERP system software.
• Seek new ways to improve efficiencies in general accounting operations.
• Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
• Responsible for account reconciliations including cash, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Communicating with external auditors and banks
• Assist in compilation of annual budget.
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.

Qualifications

• 3 + years of relevant experience in an accounting position.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Pursuing a CPA certification or are already a CPA or EA preferred.
• You should have high level verbal and written communication skills and you should be organized and adaptable.
• This is not a remote position, and you should be local to the Sacramento area.

Salary $70-75k DOE
