Overview

The role of the Sr. PLC Technician will provide technical maintenance and engineering support for automated processes at the 531 distribution center. Qualified candidate will serve as liaison to production in order to increase knowledge and understanding of daily hurdles for the production team and will provide services in the field of preventive maintenance. This will include ensuring that equipment is maintained according to manufacturer instructions and may include the creation of activities such as Vibration Analysis, IR Thermal Imaging, Ultrasound Testing, Oil Analysis, etc.

• Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with experts .
• Serve as the SME of the automated processes.
• Serve as liaison to production in order to increase knowledge and understanding of daily hurdles for the production team.
• Establish and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program. Includes, but is not limited to, documented task, consistent schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures that preserve all necessary hardware and software of the automated processes at the facility.
• Provide support for Asset-Up Streamlining. The documentation, tracking, and resolution of issues such as device lag times, conditional glitches within PLC software, flow bottlenecks, downtime recurrence reduction, etc.
• Establish and maintain an effective Back-Up Program. To include documented task, consistent schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures that will preserve all necessary hardware and software for the 531 Maintenance Department.
• Coordinate the installation, modifications, upgrades, and repair of advanced system components such as PLC's, AC drives, DC drives, HMI's, scanners, communication modules, encoders, etc.
• Ensure assigned functions are maintained per guidelines set by the management team. This may include routine audits, CI events, projects, training, data analysis and trending, etc.
• Serve as a Facilitator for the CMMS System by monitoring work requests, entering & scheduling work orders, and verifying work that has been completed.
• Work with the department manager on scheduling and performing PM activities and providing training for any deficiencies noted.
• Support inventory control of critical spare parts including reorganization, 5S, carrying cost reduction, part-outage reduction, etc.
• Assist as needed to help others resolve complex breakdowns in all areas of the facility.
• Provide services in the field of Predictive Maintenance, as needed.
• Log any necessary data for required reports pertaining to analysis, errors, and maintenance activities.
• Responsible for acquiring the necessary level of understanding of the system software, WMI, and other software products in order to safely and effectively operate, maintain and repair the facility equipment.
• Safely and effectively use and maintain facility and Maintenance Department vehicles such as the pickup truck, dump truck, tractor trailers.
• Maintain training to be a member of the first responder medical and fire response teams.
Qualifications

Education/Certification Required: 2 Year Degree: A.A.S. or A.E. in Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Applied Engineering & Design or equivalent experience

Years of Experience Required: 3+ years' experience in an Industrial Distribution or Manufacturing Maintenance setting.
Preferred: 5+ years' experience in an Industrial Distribution or Manufacturing Maintenance setting.
