Location: Cambridge, MA

Position Overview:

As a member of Unity Lab Services, you'll play a vital role in delivering excellence in service. Your responsibilities encompass supporting Research and Development, Technical Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control efforts. We value strong communication and a customer-centric approach!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle temperature units and non-regulated stability chambers, including monitoring, addressing temperature excursions, and routine sample management.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities in supervised laboratories, such as cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, freezers, and centrifuges, as well as handling equipment calibrations.
  • Perform upkeep on open-access instruments.
  • Conduct LC/MS checks and tune ballast pumps.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and accurate maintenance of KF titrators and KF ovens on a weekly basis, including standardization and coordination of maintenance.
  • Perform GC/MS performance checks and GC column efficiency testing.
  • Maintain the accurate operation of hydrogen generators.
  • Handle and order supplies for analytical labs, engineering, and processes as needed.
  • Keep track of non-regulated instrument preventive maintenance schedules and act as a point of contact for maintenance and repair issues.
  • Conduct system checks for open access instrumentation (e.g., LC, SFC, CE) including data processing and uploading to SharePoint.
  • Maintain a tidy AS Lab using 5S and safety principles.
  • Clean, decontaminate, and sanitize equipment and hood surfaces contaminated with hazardous materials.
  • Act as an intermediary and collaborate with QA and EHSS to address compliance and safety concerns.
  • Perform additional administrative activities as requested by the AS group, such as addressing GETS findings.
  • Follow work instructions and take direction from Amgen contact regarding daily duties.
  • Communicate any customer issues or potential problems to the Amgen contact.
  • Stock and maintain inventory for consumables (excluding Point of Use) and equipment components.
  • Maintain metric data for work performed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably Bachelors Of Science
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven excellence in customer service skills and a thorough problem-solving approach.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong desire to serve the customer with excellent interpersonal skills to work well with personnel at various levels. Must uphold Thermo Fisher Scientific's Four-I Values.
