Our Marketplace Operations team is looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to work across several marketplace brands here at Leaf Group - Society6, Saatchi Art, and Deny Designs.

A big vision calls for a big job. As we grow, our need for a Sr. Data Engineer grows with us.

Immediately after starting, you will investigate data anomalies and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), develop and maintain mission critical ETLs and marketing data feeds.

You'll Report To: Sr. Director of Business Intelligence

A typical day as a Sr. Data Engineer might include:

    • 30% - Build scalable data-pipelines between various databases, data sources & APIs to perform data-mining.
    • 25% - Develop, implement and maintain critical ETL solutions using Python & SQL. Perform ETL scripting, debugging, and architecture.
    • 15% - Help drive optimization and testing in existing data-pipelines to improve data quality by analyzing current performance, reviewing possible solutions for improvement and implementing those solutions. Investigate data anomalies and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
    • 10% - Build data models and complex SQL queries to perform exploratory data analysis over myriad data sources.
    • 10% - Utilize and perform data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
    • 10% - Collaborate with Software Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and business-stakeholders.

What You Have:
    • 4+ years practical experience in ETL scripting, debugging, and execution.
    • Extensive knowledge of data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
    • Solid understanding of software development principles including Object-Oriented design.
    • Python & SQL proficiency.
    • eCommerce experience is highly desirable.
    • Google BigQuery and or JavaScript experience is a plus.
    • Highly detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large.

You'll be successful if you are a motivated Sr. Data Engineer with strong Python & SQL skills and looking to join an energetic, fast-paced, project-driven BI team.
