The Writing Center at Michigan State University is seeking a full-time Specialist - Outreach. This position is a two-year, annual year position (12 months) in the Academic Specialist system beginning June 3, 2024 or earlier depending upon availability, with the possibility of renewal.
The chosen candidate will join the Writing Center's leadership team and lead community engagement initiatives, teach one course a semester, and contribute to research conducted through the new Writing Center Research Lab.

Required DegreeMasters -Rhetoric/Composition, English, English education, higher education administration, social work, or a related field
Desired DegreeDoctorate -Rhetoric/Composition, English, English education, higher education administration, social work, or a related field
Minimum RequirementsMA in Rhetoric/Composition, English, English education, higher education administration, social work, or a related field (PhD preferred); knowledge of current writing/writing center theory; administrative background in a writing center and/or writing program; experience teaching writing; experience with community organizations and engagement; experience managing an organization's digital presence.
Desired QualificationsDoctorate in Rhetoric/Composition, English, English education, higher education administration, social work, or a related field.
