Career Pathway Coordinator
Position SummaryMSU's Rehabilitation Counseling programs are partnering with the Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) to create new pathways for individuals with disabilities from marginalized groups-particularly those from underrepresented racial groups-to pursue high-demand careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine, entitled Project STEMM Up.
We are seeking a Career Pathway Coordinator to join the team and contribute to a U.S. Department of Education funded multi-year, multi-site project, starting March 2023. The project team includes Dr. Connie Sung, principal investigator, Dr. Gloria Lee, co-principal investigator, Drs. Hung Jen Kuo, Emre Umucu, Beatrice Lee, co-investigators, staff researchers, postdoctoral research associates, operational staff, affiliated faculty, and graduate assistants. This position will be renewed annually and can be renewed up to September 2026.

Duties and responsibilities:
The Career Pathway Coordinator will partner and coordinate with MRS personnel to carry out a range of professional rehabilitation counseling services, including vocational guidance, physical restoration, training and placement of persons with disabilities, particularly those from underserved populations. We are seeking a person who is excited to be a member of an interdisciplinary, dynamic and motivated group, and who is driven by a desire to produce high-quality and practical products aimed at driving improvements for individuals with disabilities. The position, which include benefits, is fixed term annual, 100%-time position beginning March 1, 2023 with the potential for renewals in the College of Education.
Location: Varied depending on the assigned regions: 1) Wayne (Livonia, Monroe, Taylor, Wayne) 2) Oakland- Pontiac and Oak Park); 3) Detroit Renaissance (Fort Street, Grand River, Mack, Porter, Hamtramck); 4) Eastern (Flint, Port Huron); 5) Northern (Alpena, Traverse, Gaylord); 6) Marquette.
Qualified candidates who possess express knowledge of region, stakeholders, and have existing relationships in the community are preferred.
