Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) is one the largest IT services program for the Navy and U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), supporting approximately 400,000 seats around the world. Under SMIT, the SMIT contractor will provide enterprise services to the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN), Navy-Marine Corps Internet (NMCI), and OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) including transport, datacenter, network operations, service desk, cybersecurity, and managed services. CDW currently seeks a BMC Remedy Solution Architect to join our NGEN SMIT team.

What You Will Get to Do

 

  • The Remedy Solution Architect will support BMC Remedy 20.02 ITSM suite applications. The candidate will collaborate with the Process Consultant(s) to design and implementation of various BMC Remedy ITSM Suite products including Service Level Agreements (SLM), Configuration management (CMDB), knowledge management, and self-service capabilities to align with and support identified requirements. In addition, the Solution Architect will participate designing and implementing any required integrations of the BMC Remedy Action Request System with other GOTS and COTS application(s).
  • Architect the BMC Remedy platform to meet identified functional and non-functional requirements
  • Design and lead development and integration of Remedy improvements and feature additions utilizing feedback from leadership and infrastructure teams including self-service and capability automations
  • Perform BMC Remedy ARS COTS customization development and database development
  • Design and develop Remedy ARS software for a multi-tiered user support application supporting Service Desk and Data Center operations
  • Perform change assessments including the development and implementation of change control board documentation as well as attend and defend change requests
  • Deliver ongoing improvement opportunities with processes, standards, and policies
  • Work as a team player, learning form others as well as mentoring
  • Responsible to operations and maintenance of out of the box Remedy Applications

 

More About the Role

 

  • Candidate will be responsible for researching, designing, developing and/or modifying BMC Remedy ITSM Suite and BMC Remedy Action Request System.
  • Presents ideas for system improvements
  • Conducts impact analysis for software changes
  • Produces detailed specifications and requirements design documents
  • Works closely with other Remedy developers to understand and implement functional requirements
  • Conducts unit tests and documents findings
  • Supports formal testing in controlled environment before code is promoted to production
  • Adheres to program configuration change control standards. Provides input into training manuals for users
  • Extends applications by using applicable application tools
  • Maintains knowledge of feature and technical changes in the tool
  • Interfaces with users to better understand and use the tools according to documented processes

 

You’ll Bring these Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of technical sales or technical experience
  • Experience in upgrading BMC Remedy v 9 or later
  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, including consulting skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong passion for learning and teaching others
  • Proven group presentations skills
  • Motivated and self starting
  • Ability to think creatively and come up with proactive ideas that will increase sales
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers
  • Concentrate on certain areas of technology driven by company technology objectives
  • Experience in technology sales
  • Thorough knowledge of Cisco UC products and understanding of infrastructure


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have

 

  • Experience with the Implementation of Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Experience with BMC Service Request management
  • ITIL v3 or Intermediate
  • Remedy Certifications
  • Relevant DHS focused experience
  • Current DHS TSA EOD
