*Projects the candidate will be working on: *
* We are working on the USP (United Strategic Platform) project, specifically we are the Cirrus Finance domain team.
* USP is the strategic claims adjudication platform for E&I, providing configurable and scalable claims processing for E&I lines of business.
*Ideal Background:*
* Self-motivated individual with 3-5 years of software engineering experience in a Java / Spring environment.
* Healthcare and / or finance background can be helpful but is not required.
*Team and Team size:*
* We are the Cirrus Finance team, aka. Ghost Rider.
* Our team is made up of 10 software engineers, 2 quality engineers, 4 systems analysts, 2 systems integration testers, 3 technical delivery managers, 1 technical product manager, and 1 technical delivery owner.
*Top Responsibilities:** *
* Breakdown business / story requirements into manageable chunks of development work
* Write clean, well designed, extensible software
* Write and maintain unit test suite ensuring adequate code coverage
* Participate in team code reviews ensuring adhesion to team coding best practices and development guidelines
* Able to investigate problems / defects and clearly communicate with the team
* Able to handle technical communications with team members and business partners
*Skills/attributes Required:*
* Java (could include other JVM languages such as Groovy or Kotlin) - 3-5yrs
* Object-oriented programming background - 3-5yrs
* Write unit tests - 2-5yrs
* Knowledge of SQL - 2-3yrs
* Experience working in a CI / CD pipeline - 1-3yrs
* Good technical communication skills
* Analytical / detail-oriented mindset
*Skills/attributes Preferred:*
* Experience with Spring / Spring Boot
* Familiarity with Git and Maven
* Familiarity with Docker concepts such as containerization and docker compose
* Queueing technologies such as RabbitMQ and / or Kafka
