Work Shift:

Job Description:

Develop, implement, and maintain custom product application software in support of company strategic initiatives, business development efforts, marketing plans and departmental projects. Analyze user needs, as well as business and technology requirements, and implement the appropriate, approved software solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. Perform functional testing and periodic analysis to ensure system quality and reliability. Design, deploy and maintain databases in support of the software initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and implement software functionality in support of user requests and specifications for both front-end and back-end development

• Develop new configuration functionality in support of new products as well as product line enhancements

• Adhere to defined project timelines and budgets

• Provide quality assurance for own work as well as serving as a resource for cross checking another department member's work

• Adhere to suitable programming practices and methodology

• Maintain sufficient program documentation and revision control

• Address acute user requests for support

• Assist users in effectively leveraging our production software tools

• Assist users in the development of specifications for new functionality and enhancements

• Create, publish, and maintain procedures for common programming and support activities

• Participate in the identification and evaluation of new software and technology solutions

• Create and maintain Gorbel product configurators including:

  • User interfaces
  • Business / engineering logic
  • Databases
  • 2D CAD drawings and 3D assemblies
  • Bills of material and routings
  • Quote documents

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science

• Object-oriented programming and analysis background

• To be detail oriented and quality focused

Preferred Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science

• One year of professional / internship experience

• Expertise developing software in a Microsoft environment, Windows Server, Visual Studio, IIS, Team Foundation Server (TFS)

• ASP.NET programming expertise

• SQL programming and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server

• XML experience

• Strong HTML, JavaScript, DHTML skills

• Computer-aided design (CAD) experience

• Mechanical Aptitude

Work Environment:

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements

• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

• Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time

• Primary work environment is professional corporate
