The University of Miami Health Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker, MSW in the Social Department. The Social Worker provides staff development and training on assessments, reassessments, care plan development, interventions, prioritizing needs, case conferencing, and follow-up. Provides consultation, technical assistance and/or delivery of direct client psychosocial support services as needed. Selects and/or produces culturally competent psychosocial educational materials suitable for the client group. Honors diversity, including attitudes, practices, and/or policies that hold cultural differences and diversity in the highest esteem. Trains staff to be aware of the relationship between personal and environmental Issues. Educates team members regarding the client's attitudes, behaviors and coping styles which may affect their approach to care. Establishes and updates psychosocial resource and referral procedure of local community agencies. Develops and implements a quality assurance and evaluation plan for the psychosocial component services. Provides consultation and technical assistance to the provider and staff about individual clients' psychosocial needs. Acts as the client's advocate in procuring local, state and federal benefits and services which she is entitled to receive. Takes responsibility for being knowledgeable and aligned in a working relationship with auxiliary service providers. Interviews clients and their families and coordinates and plans programs and activities to meet their social and emotional needs. Provides crisis intervention and assists families in understanding the implications and complexities of the medical situation and its impact on lifestyle. Develops and updates written protocols for the delivery of psychosocial support services.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Master's degree in Social Work

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 2 year of experience
