What You'll Do

In response to our growing business needs, we are excited to announce the creation of a new position: Social Media Manager. This position is responsible for developing and growing our social media presence across new and existing social media platforms and establishing new presences, as appropriate. The goal of the Wilson Sporting Goods social media strategy is to build, nurture and grow loyal communities as well as leverage brand social media platforms to promote our products, generate awareness, grow brand loyalty and ultimately drive an increase in sales.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage 1-3 interns and/or contractors.
  • Stay current on platform updates and innovations and ensure that best practices are being applies across the board
  • Support or lead the development of POVs for the Wilson global internal team
  • Develop and present reports to leadership including establishing metrics, gleaning community insights & delivering recommendations on a regular basis
  • Confirm accuracy of social platform reports/analyses, paid social reports/analyses and social monitoring reports/analyses
  • Provide continuous analysis & insights around the performance of all social engagement
  • Gather and analyze insights from across social and communicate learnings to the larger marketing and internal leadership team
  • Monitor competitors in the space and surface relevant learnings to the team
  • Support strategy in the development of recommendations in regard to how the social platforms work together in the context of the broader communication
  • Manage the daily moderation of communities posting strategy and optimization
  • Be the eyes and ears of the brand(s) across the entire social space
  • Identify conversations or crisis that requires response and route through the appropriate departments for resolution
  • Locate and engage potential advocates within the brand's social community
  • Oversee consistency of brand presence in social on a global level, which includes cascading strategies, providing feedback on content and content approaches, ensuring proper knowledge of how the Wilson brand is expressed in social media (market to market) and growing social acumen of counterparts in priority markets
  • Lead and execute social influencer campaigns, with the goal of creating long-term online advocacy of the brand, and reporting the results and key learnings of such campaigns
  • Manage up, ensuring proper packaging of assets and proactively thinking ahead of potential needs and questions
What We're Looking For

This role requires a bachelor's degree in journalism, literature, public relations, communications, marketing, multimedia, creative design, or related field. We are looking for a candidate with minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience include strong experience planning, people management, and executing social media initiatives in a corporate or agency setting.

Other qualifications include:
  • Community engagement/building experience
  • True subject matter expertise in social media platforms - significant first-hand experience with major platforms, their differences, benefits and unique features
  • Experience leveraging social media management and analytics tools, including, but not limited to Sprout, sprinklr, HootSuite, etc.
  • Experience writing, editing, and crafting content for the social media space
  • Familiarity with digital content management systems is a plus
