Job Description Summary:
In this role for the Console team, you will use your development and design experience as a full-stack engineer, and influence the direction, architecture and implementation of the Console product, and key capabilities of PayPal's Developer experience platform. As part of next phase of console platform evolution, you will also play an active role in enabling applied machine learning use-cases for Console.

The Technology Platforms and Experiences (TPX) team is the technology engine that powers PayPal's business. We deliver a seamlessly scalable, exceptionally efficient, highly reliable infrastructure and services platform in a hybrid cloud environment.The Console is the Web/CLI interface to all TPX platform capabilities. Thousands of PayPal developers build and run hundreds of applications processing billions of calls daily with high availability and reliability using capabilities available in Console. Responsibilities:
  • Work within a team of highly talented engineers, product and architect to design and develop a highly scalable and configurable Console Platform
  • In this role for the Console team, you will use your past development and design experience as a software engineer, and influence the direction, architecture and implementation of the Console product, and key capabilities of PayPal's Developer experience platform. You will also play an active role in enabling applied machine learning use-cases for Console platform.
  • You will lead by example, and elevate the design, implementation, quality, and strong engineering practices across the team
  • Maintain and enhance the existing architectural documentations and create the new one as needed
  • You will be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design and implementation.
  • Must be a self- starter, work independently or as a team member, and have strong communication skills in interfacing with partners and the Technology, will also be responsible for communicating to stakeholders on technical standards, principles, methodology and trends.
  • Highly analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically and to develop comprehensive detailed specifications.
  • Highly effective at working in cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organizations.
  • You will contribute to enhancing the Agile practices of the team, working closely with the engineering manager

Qualifications:
  • Technical Strength areas: JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, HTTP, REST API's, MVC, design patterns
  • Experience in building scalable, observable and highly performant technology platforms is necessary
  • Knowledge of DevOps and public cloud technologies is a huge positive.
  • Experience with JAVA, Spring boot, MySQL, Docker, Kubernetes is a huge positive
  • Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance.
  • Competent in software engineering tools (e.g. build tools) and best practices (e.g. unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong OOP skills, with ability to analyze requirements and transform into scalable software designs.
  • Should be a strong advocate of code craftsmanship, good coding standards and use of tools that will improve the quality of the delivered code
  • Demonstrate a high level of curiosity, passion for technology, pride of ownership and strive for excellence
  • Experience with using Agile/Scrum methodology for software development
  • Extra credit: Provide your GitHub account or code samples with your resume!
  • Extra credit: Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence concepts, and it's applications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals.
  • 4-7 years of experience building successful production software systems.
  • Experience in providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
