The MGH CCIB DNA Core, founded in 1995, is a research core laboratory within the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology of Massachusetts General Hospital. Utilizing advanced instrumentation and expertise, this state-of-the-art facility provides a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge services in the fields of molecular biology, genomics and laboratory automation (Beckman Biomeks and Tecans). Services include Next-generation sequencing applications (Plasmid, Amplicon, Viral and 16S), conventional Sanger Sequencing, Mouse Genotyping, and Laboratory Automation.
The MGH CCIB DNA Core has opened up a full-time position for a Senior Research Technologist. As a member of the DNA Core, the Senior Research Technologist will be under the general direction of the Lab Director and will be responsible for the operational management of the Core's PCR-based Genotyping service and Next-Gen Sequencing service (Illumina Sequencing). The successful candidate will coordinate multiple concurrent projects and will assist with high-throughput sample processing. He/she will have good organizational and time management skills as well as an ability to follow directions carefully and to use their advanced molecular biology skills to solve common problems independently.
