Optiv, the cyber advisory and solutions leader, is looking for a high-energy, high-performing senior public relations specialist to help amplify our story and brand. Reporting to the senior manager of public relations, you will be responsible for supporting and executing the company's public relations strategy.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and thrives on telling meaningful stories and delivering results, has superior written and oral communication skills, and excels in a fast-paced environment. The position is preferred to be based in Denver or Kansas City but can be remote for the right candidate.

How you'll make an impact

• Play a vital role in all PR activities, including proactive media pitching, news releases, partner quotes, company awards, internal PR newsletter, building relationships with internal subject matter experts, media training, company blogs, etc.
• Work closely with external PR agencies
• Maintain a pulse on trending topics and newsworthy opportunities within the cybersecurity industry
• Build and maintain relationships with key members of the media
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and stakeholders, including company executives, to develop compelling storylines that align with company and marketing priorities
• Manage and execute weekly internal newsletter of media placements to encourage social sharing
• Manage and prep leaders for presentations and webinars, including but not limited to call for presentations, talking points, etc.
• Manage corporate award strategy and submissions
• Align with social media team to promote earned media placements
• Define, track and report metrics
• Contribute to internal planning, content creation and strategy development
• Provide crisis communications support as needed
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct reports.

What we're looking for

• Public relations, journalism or communications degree preferred
• At least 6-8 years of demonstrated experience in PR and/or journalism field (experience in technology/cybersecurity industry a plus but not required)
• Exceptional writing, editing and organizational skills; ability to create concise and compelling stories from technical and complex information
• Knowledge of AP Style and an eye for detail
• Broad understanding of what the media is interested in, drivers of news flow and how to tell a compelling story
• Excellent interpersonal skills, combining the ability to build effective networks of relations within the business and with media
• Hardworking and a self-starter with a willingness to go above and beyond stated responsibilities

Salary Range Description
$69,500.00 - $106,460.00 Salary

The Hiring Range provided for this role is informed by (but not limited to) various factors including responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, geography, as well as other market influences when extending an offer. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for these factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a variable incentive-based bonus plan. Optiv offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, of which salary is a component.
