ProPath, the largest 100% physician-owned, nationwide pathology practice, seeks an exceptional Senior Payroll Administrator to join our thriving practice.  The selected individual will become a part of a 50+ physician group and independent laboratory. ProPath is a nationally recognized practice founded in 1966 and based in Dallas and facilities in Houston, Atlanta and Massachusetts.  We have over 50 physicians and PhD’s on the team. Our over 500 team members are based in 11 different states with physical facilities in three.

The Senior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for payroll processing and reporting. He/she will produce, reconcile and analyze information for general ledger and benefit reporting, as well as payroll related accounts payable.  This position includes access to confidential information.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Accurately process bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls using payroll software system (UKG-Ultimate Software).
  • Participate in the administration of established payroll and related policies as directed by executive management.
  • Meet scheduled payroll and tax related deadlines.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll and related files.
  • Maintain E-time record keeping system and produce necessary reports for regular use by managers.
  • Maintain employee financial and benefit information in the payroll software system (UKG-Ultimate Software) as communicated by human resources.
  • Produce payroll reports as requested by management.
  • Liaison between payroll and related vendors regarding maintenance, supplies and upgrades.
  • Produce manual checks as needed.
  • Manually calculate manager approved employee time sheets as needed to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Act as expert resource to management regarding payroll issues, procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll and time keeping processing systems and changes in wage and tax laws. Communicate changes to management.
  • Troubleshoot payroll problems and make recommendations to management for correction and improvement.
  • Respond to payroll questions from management and employees.
  • Reconcile employee benefit invoices to ensure accurate reporting to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries for accounting and special projects as required.
  • Reconcile payroll records to general ledger accounts.
  • Process special payments, tax allocations, and employee deductions and set schedules.
  • Process 401(k) contributions and loan payments and reconcile with payroll. Verify calculations for accuracy.
  • Transmit 401(k) records to the record keeper and assist Plan Administrator as directed.
  • Process garnishment payments to appropriate state and federal agencies.
  • Experience with correspondence between federal, state, and local tax agencies.
  • Participate and coordinate as needed in department audits as well as Worker’s Comp, 401K and SOX
  • Provide administrative assistance in and participate in preparation and distribution of all department communications and reports.
  • Participate in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Development, implement and maintain department procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and issues.
  • Assist department in carrying out various human resource incentive programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Represents ProPath in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Maintain compliance with company and department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client and/or company records and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, co-workers and clients to provide quality customer service.
  • Maintain a professional appearance through adherence to company approved dress code.
  • Work effectively within a team-oriented department and company.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

Associate Degree in Accounting or related business degree, desired.  CPP certification desired.  Medical experience helpful.
EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience with Full Cycle payroll processing.
